About the Company
A well-funded team of systems engineers and researchers working at the frontier of decentralised technology. Our aim is not incremental improvement on existing blockchain solutions but step-function gains over them. We recently closed a large Series A led by a top-tier crypto venture fund, and we’re growing the team.
The Role
We’re hiring a Smart Contract Engineer to join the core engineering team and build at the application layer.
The scope is broad. Some of it is direct collaboration with external app and infrastructure teams; some is designing and implementing entirely new primitives that only become possible on a high-performance EVM execution client. You’ll be part of a small, high-functioning team in a fast-moving startup.
What You Will Do
- Write smart contracts designed around the resources and throughput our execution client makes available.
- Spot unmet needs in the app developer ecosystem and address them in close collaboration with the core engineering team.
- Work directly with external application and infrastructure teams to unblock them, drawing on deep understanding of both their domain and our client.
Who You Are
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years writing Solidity smart contracts.
- Prior blockchain engineering experience at a Layer 1, Layer 2, or infrastructure project (oracle, bridge, indexer, RPC provider, wallet, or another high-performance application).
- Expert with tools like Foundry and Hardhat, with a deep grasp of application-layer security vulnerabilities.
- Backend engineering experience in a low-level language such as C, C++, or Rust.
- You’ve built something substantial from scratch, ideally with real users. The more, the better.
- A strong communicator, willing to engage in technical discussion, code review, and documentation.
You’ll fit our engineering culture if you value:
- Getting things done. We prize practicality and common sense in problem solving.
- Strong design instincts. Higher-level thinking about system design, sensible abstractions, maintainability.
- Excellence in whatever you’ve worked on before.
- A rigorous development mindset.
Why Work With Us
- Hard problems. Genuinely difficult engineering with real impact.
- A large opportunity. The EVM standard is everywhere, but most EVM-compatible chains are slow. Closing the gap between portability and performance is what unlocks mass adoption, and that’s the problem we’re working on.
- The right team. Small, exceptional, low ego.
- Culture. A lean team pointed at ambitious goals, built on collaboration and high-quality output. Joining early means helping shape it.
- Compensation. Competitive salary and equity.
- Resources and growth. We’re well capitalised, backed by leading venture funds. We keep the team lean, so this is a rare opening, and you’ll grow as the company does.
